With respect to the sacred ground of hockey
The moment you put it on your shoulders, you feel the presence of a hockey sweater. If you look closely at the details, you can see the story embedded in each one. On the side is the number "79," which represents TaylorMade's founding year. The front pocket features the common lawn (black-billed loon), known as the state bird of the host city, and below it, a landscape of Northwood unfolds. This staff bag was created to commemorate the third women's major tournament held overseas, and was inspired by the culture of the host city.
Design Inspiration
This bag isn't just something that was made; it's a sewn-together entity. It incorporates the silhouette of a hockey sweater, translating its details directly onto the fairway. "79" is where it belongs, quietly marking TaylorMade's founding year.
The traces of the host city are etched in the details.
Looking closely at the details of the bag, the story of Minnesota, the host state, unfolds one by one. The front pocket features the common lawn, known as the state bird. The valuables pocket has the lettering "M.N." Below that, an embroidered landscape of the Northwoods unfolds. The axe on the handle is a subtle homage to Paul Bunyan, the giant lumberjack from American folklore. And the words "Land of 10,000 Rinks" are repeatedly engraved on the bottom. This is the state's nickname, derived from its culture of enjoying hockey on its countless lakes and outdoor rinks during the winter.
It was all for this moment.
The "Midnight Ice" staff bag carries on TaylorMade's legacy of major-winning designs. The interior is lined with flannel, evoking the feeling of a Northwoods shirt drying by a warm fire at the end of a long winter day. A limited-edition staff bag befitting the venue of the third major tournament of the year for women's golf.
